THE BEGINNING

Organisation for Perpetuation of Self Sustenance by Escorting Nature, OPSSEN, was founded by Chandan Gautam in september 2009, with an aim to save mother Earth from the brutal act of pollution. All started with the sparrows.

Our founder, Chandan, is a great observer since his childhood. His father and mother too are nature lover and this gave him the very idea of creating such an awesome organisation.

Its an incident around 5 years back. Chandan studied in hostel and used to come home during holidays. Back home, he used to observe and find out the changes that had occurred since the last time he saw his house. One day, while talking to his mother, he saw a platform that his father made for the sparrows to sit and eat the grains he had put there for them. He was astonished by this idea and every time he returned home for holidays, he used to check out that platform.

Sadly, this didn't happen for long. Holidays arrived, Chandan packed his bag and with a desire to meet the sparrows again, he began his journey to his home. As he reached there, he kept his luggage aside and went directly to the place of the platform.

"Where are my friends? Where are my sparrows?", a voice asked within him. After a short while, he got to know that due to plastering of that area, the platform had to be removed. He felt sad for a few days but soon everything became alright till he read an article.

An article about 'sparrows getting disappeared'. He was struck by a force, his conscience asked him to think. He realized that there is a need to make everything better again. Observing situations around him and thinking deeply about the cause of such harms to the environment, he felt bad because he realised that we humans are ruining the beauty of mother Earth. Some more incidents occurred, some more experience he gained, and finally he determined to begin, to take the first step.
